SUMMARY:Camelot Auditions
DESCRIPTION:COMPLETE YOUR AUDITION FORM \n  \n\nDirector’s Message\nHelpful Links\nAbout the Show\nRecommended Audition Songs\nCast of Characters\nQuestions\n\nPM&L Theatre and director Guy Finley are pleased to welcome actors of all ages to audition for our production of Lerner & Loewe’s Camelot\, adapted by David Lee. \nAuditioners must have completed their online audition form and reserved an audition slot before arrival. Audition forms and slots can be scheduled on a walk-in basis but are preferred in advance. \nAuditions will be held on Monday\, April 15\, and Tuesday\, April 16\, 2024\, at PM&L Theatre\, located at 877 Main Street in Antioch\, IL. Callbacks will be held on Thursday\, April 18. Each auditioner will audition alone\, consisting of a vocal range check\, singing a portion of a song from the show\, and a cold reading with the production staff. This production will have moderate dancing and combat demands. \nAudition Sides\n\nMale Parts Audition Side\nGuenevere Audition Side\n\nCamelot will open on Friday\, June 7\, and will run for four weekends until Sunday\, June 30. \nDirector’s Message\n\n\nHelpful Links\n\nProduction Calendar\nYouTube Playlist\nAudition Form\n\nAbout the Show\nPM&L Theatre is thrilled to present auditions for a distinctive production of Camelot\, ingeniously adapted by David Lee for a contemporary audience and crafted for a compact ensemble of eight (six men\, one woman\, one teen boy). This version peels back the layers of the classic Lerner and Loewe musical to its core\, honing in on the intricate love triangle between King Arthur\, Queen Guenevere\, and Sir Lancelot. Against the backdrop of Arthur’s noble quest\, this adaptation stands out by requiring cast members to assume multiple roles throughout the narrative\, offering a full-bodied portrayal of the legendary tale with a reduced cast. Notably\, David Lee’s adaptation revives some of the original score’s songs that have been absent in recent productions\, restoring the full glory of the musical’s rich tapestry. We are searching for versatile actors who are excited to navigate the dynamic landscape of ‘Camelot\,’ bringing depth and nuance to this streamlined\, yet emotionally rich storytelling experience. \nRecommended Audition Songs\nFor those auditioning for specific roles in ‘Camelot’\, we recommend the following songs that best showcase the characters’ essence and vocal demands. However\, please feel free to select any other song from the show that you feel best represents your vocal abilities and character interpretation. You will perform with our accompanist during the audition. For all other roles not listed\, auditioners are welcome to choose any song from the show that they prefer. \n\nArthur\nHow to Handle a Woman\nGuenevere\nBefore I Gaze at You Again\nLancelot\nIf Ever I Would Leave You\nMordred\nThe Seven Deadly Virtues\n\nCast of Characters\n\nReveler #1\nPlays Squire Dap\, Mordred\nGender: Male\nVocal range top: D4\nVocal range bottom: A2\nReveler #2\nPlays Dinadan\nGender: Male\nVocal range top: G4\nVocal range bottom: B2\nReveler #3\nPlays Sagramore\nGender: Male\nVocal range top: G4\nVocal range bottom: B2\nReveler #4\nPlays Lionel\nGender: Male\nVocal range top: G4\nVocal range bottom: B2\nReveler #5\nPlays Tom\nGender: Male\nVocal range top: G4\nVocal range bottom: B2\nReveler #6\nPlays Arthur\nGender: Male\nVocal range top: F4\nVocal range bottom: Bb2\nReveler #7\nPlays Guenevere\nGender: Female\nVocal range top: A5\nVocal range bottom: A3\nReveler #8\nPlays Lancelot\nGender: Male\nVocal range top: G#4\nVocal range bottom: A2\n\nQuestions?\nContact the director\, Guy Finley via email. \n
