SUMMARY:Marjorie Prime Auditions
DESCRIPTION:PM&L Theatre and director Lindsey Badtke are seeking a diverse cast of 4 to audition for our production of Marjorie Prime.  There are no roles available for children in this show. All roles are available\, nothing has been precast.  This is a volunteer opportunity actors will not be paid. \nAuditioners are requested to complete their Audition Form and reserve an audition slot before arrival. Audition forms and slots can be scheduled on a walk-in basis but are preferred in advance.\n  \nAuditions will be held on Sunday January 26\, from 3 – 6 pm\, and Monday January 27\, from 6:30pm to 9 pm at PM&L Theatre\, located at 877 Main Street in Antioch\, IL.\n  \nCallbacks if needed will be by invitation only\, and will be held on Thursday \, January 30 at 7 pm.  Auditioners will audition privately and in small groups of up to 6.\n  \nMarjorie Prime will open Friday\, March 28\, 2025 and will run for 3 weekends until Sunday\, April 13\, 2025. \n\n\n\nAbout the Show\nIt’s the age of artificial intelligence\, and 85-year-old Marjorie — a jumble of disparate\, fading memories — has a handsome new companion who’s programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember\, and what would we forget\, if given the chance? In this richly spare\, wondrous new play\, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits — if any — of what technology can replace. \n\n\nNotes for Auditioners\n\n\n\n\nIt is recommended but not required that those interested in auditioning should prepare a one to two minute contemporary dramatic monologue.  Anyone with questions about monologues should contact PM&L Managing Director Adam Armstrong\n\nCallbacks: Actors who are asked to come to callbacks will participate in cold readings\, and will be given specific scenes to prepare for.\n\n\n\nRehearsals:  The rehearsal schedule will be created based on actor availability.  Please be ready to list conflicts.  Looking to schedule rehearsals Monday-Thursday evenings and possibly Sunday evenings.\n\n\n\n\nCast Breakdown:\n\nMARJORIE – 85. Hairspray\, the Tony Award-winning musical\, follows the lovable plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad as she dances her way onto TV’s most popular show and fights to integrate it—proving that you really can’t stop the beat. \nNotes for Auditioners \n\nVocal Preparation: Because Hairspray is a musical\, please prepare 16–32 bars of a song that best showcases your range and personality.
